(from a French 15th c book of hours.)Unmarried women wore their hair down to attract a mate, but a good wife always wore here hair up or tucked into a cap.
This practice protected the hair from tangles, dirt and smoke. It is also a great way for re-enactors to hide modern hair styles or just o cover a 'bad hair day'. This cute cap has long ties on each side that are worn wrapped around the head like a turban. White is made of broadcloth, colors and natural are made of crinkle cotton. One size fits all.
