Sutton Hoo is an Archeological dig where many Viking era helmets and armor pieces were uncovered. This helmet with its enigmatic expression, heavy brows, and pointed nasel reflect the style of these Viking helmets. This is a fully functional SCA helmet with a 12-gauge, domed top and 14-gauge sides. The eye slots meet SCA distance between bars and the bar across the eye opening is reinforced with 1/4 inch round bar-stock. There is a metal aventail in the back to cover the base of the neck.
This helmet comes unpadded and unstrapped so that you can customize as you will. ML fits up to a 25" crown circumfernce head and the XL fits larger than 25" up to 27" with room for padding.
