Dolce and Gabbana and other designers fall 2013 lines feature crowns

Gold crowns, not just tiaras, are making a splash on the runway in Milan this year. Dolce and Gabbana's fall line of clothing looks to the Renaissance and the Byzantine age for inspiration. Many of the dresses are encrusted with gold metallic fillagree trimmed with beads, bezalled jewels, and mosaics.
Last year D&G gave us ruffs and tiaras. This year they dared to go farther with gold fillagree crowns topped with 4-inch crosses, large jewels, and pearls. They even created boots and shoes with similar decoration.
