Damascus steel blade, 14" overall dagger.
There is nothing quite as beautiful as a real Damascus-style blade. This technique is created by hand by the blacksmith folding and beating the metal many times in a coal-fired forge. This incorporates thin layers of higher carbon steel into the matrix creating a hard but flexible blade. Acid is applied in the final stages to bring out the beauty of the layered steel. No two blades are alike. This lovely 10" blade has a hand-detailed, brass crossguard and pommel and a brass-studded, rosewood hilt. It comes with its own leather sheath decorated with an antique bronze concho.
overall length: 14"
This is the fourth knife I purchased from Renstore in the Damascus steel, and all four are superb. All are full-tang and the Rosewood handles are beautiful. The blades on all four are nicely sharpened, and that includes both sides of the dagger. These are going to be proudly displayed, and used when I attend the Renaissance fairs.
